i had a dream that
something was coming and i didn't know where else to go. i also had a
feeling that something very bad was going to happen.
i had a dream come true before. i've dreamt of people before actually meeting them. let's hope, tho, that my psychic abilities are still very limited.
| TALLAHASSEE - Hurricane Charley is strengthening and expected to make a devastating landfall late today, possibly making an early turn toward Sarasota and making landfall sometime after 4 p.m., but more likely striking the Tampa area before 7 p.m. At 1 p.m., the storm was 75 miles south-southwest of Fort Myers, traveling 20 miles per hour.
It became a Category 3 hurricane at 1 p.m., with maximum sustained winds near 125 mph.
State meteorologists told the governor that Tampa could expect storm surges of 10-15 feet and that St. Petersburg could become an island.
The cost to Florida's economy was also expected to be grave with state economists expecting $11.5 billion in building damage, $3.6 billion in content damage and $46 million in inventory loss. Bush said 2,500 utility and debris trucks are on their way from out of state to restore electricity service following the storm and to remove over a billion tons of debris expected to litter the area.

State officials urged almost 2 million people to evacuate as this city's downtown and other neighboring areas could be submerged under water pushing ashore. Charley strengthened Friday afternoon to a major hurricane with top sustained winds estimated at 145 mph, officials said. The projected track moved slightly to the south Friday afternoon, indicating that landfall could take place in the Sarasota-Charlotte county area.
