A lesson in car quality and safety: The Crash Test
Yesterday, at an intersection along Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, I more or less witnessed a car collision (I learned back in Driver's Ed that they prefer "collision" over "accident"). An ambulence caming speeding through the red light of the crossing street while up in front of me a few cars ahead, a chevy lumina had to stop short, and the mitsubishi galant behind it just couldn't hit the brakes fast enough. Stopped in my lane, we saw the galant pull over to a side lane. Its front bumper had fallen completely off and its front end was all twisted up. The big black nigga dressed appropriately in dreads and FUBU attire got out of his car, looked pretty pissed, and just kicked the bumper laying on the road, making it do a half-turn. Seeing all the damage done to the galant, we were curious to know how the lumina faired up. Once I got into the free lane next to it, we couldn't help but laugh as we drove by the scene of the accident. The lumina had only cuts and scratches and some paint from the galant on its rear bumper. I don't think there were even any dents at all.
Just scratches and paint.
'Makes you wonder how those cars fair up when you really need them to...
